# Collecting prescription A number of monastics need prescriptions collected regularly from Berkhamsted. Encourage monastics to give good notice before requesting a collection, so drives don’t have to be organised at the last minute. To collect the prescriptions you will need: The registered name of the monastic (this is generally the lay name), the date of birth and the name of the pharmacy (there are a number of pharmacies available in Berkhamsted). Details can be found here: [Prescription Name](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YnHUivWGIHrigdAPIBSS54w43RpaZfhmda3jPwoZozA/edit#gid=0) Prescriptions are generally paid by invoice which is collected with the medicine from the pharmacy. To ensure the prescription receipt to be signed by the requester for the medicine, the TC will ask the driver to attach the note (the drive request slip) that shows the name of the requester to the invoice. The TC will ask the requester to sign the invoice and then this can be put in the office tray for payment. Note: Those above 60 years of age are qualified for free prescription. (No signature required.) Note: Both prescriptions for Ajahn Sundara and Ajahn Bodhipala are handled by the nuns’ community. If for any reason, Ajahn Sundara and Ajahn Bodhipala request TC to help with their prescriptions, please direct them to Ajahn Khemeka or other sisters. Note: Ajahn Sundara prefers not to switch to online pharmacy. Randula has volunteered to monitor Aj. Sundara’s prescriptions and collect the medicine herself. AKh needs to be informed if there is a transport request to collect any repeat prescriptions from Ajahn Sundara.(ref: ASC meeting on 23rd of December) # Coffee Capsule Recycling **Ajahn Amaro’s used coffee capsules are collected for recycling.** When the upatak of Ajahn Amaro will come to you with the labeled bag with capsules, ask a driver take them to any [Yodel collection point](https://www.yodel.co.uk/store-locator). You can find Yodel locations using their [Store Locator,](https://www.yodel.co.uk/store-locator) such as the Food & Wine shop in Hemel or the Village Shop in Berk. These stores will return the capsules to the coffee company for recycling. # Charity Clothes From time to time clothing items are taken to a local charity collection point. Berkhamsted doesn’t offer a good option for this, except Oxfam, and it is recommended that the items be taken to the big Tesco in Hemel Hempstead where there are clothing collection points in the carpark. # Food overflow and other items (from boiler room) for charity For now Nam Hong (kitchen facilitator) is contacting charity in case we have food or items from the boiler room to give away; so liaise with her for items to be given away (August 2024). Another option would be the food bank in Hemel.
