#### Kitchen Cut List
Eleonora and Aj Narindo created a revised schedule of items to be bought. You can access the list on the **second tab** of this [spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bSzD3YO3hpnZMe0vAq7NHUvaRjmmKP79/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=108661546552987451960&rtpof=true&sd=true) (it has been updated recently, this is a copy of the original)
Make sure you buy something that has the **same spec** as was initially prescribed: power, drainage, better to stick to model.
**Delivery date for item, earliest**: 23rd of September
[](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bSzD3YO3hpnZMe0vAq7NHUvaRjmmKP79/edit?gid=1761729135#gid=1761729135)
##### Shelving
Areas for shelving include cooking space, dry store, kitchen store, flower studio - fitted after flooring at end October. We should order items for delivery end October/beginning November
##### Pots and pans
Deciding re pots and pans quite important
**Induction Magnet Test**
The first test is the magnet test. Start by placing a magnet on the base of your pan, and if it sticks firmly, it will work with your induction cooker. If it doesn’t stick firmly, it may work, however it will not work efficiently. If the magnet does not draw toward the pan's base, the pan does not have the metals to create heat with an induction cooker. You can efficiently test to see if your pots and pans are induction ready by using a refrigerator magnet.
**Induction Boiling Water Test**
The next text you can try is the water test. You can do this by pouring a little bit of water into the pot or pan you wish to test and set it on the unit. If you receive an error message, this means the cookware is not induction friendly.

## Maria's Note about Kitchen
Ideally, the **former dining area** can be cleared at the beginning of the winter retreat as the floor needs to be looked at and repaired.
That needs to be liaised with the site manager Eleanora
In the **DINING AREA (linoleum)** are at present : **two cupboards RCK6** and **RCK7**, the **big grey Gram fridge B1** (All marked on the attached present kitchen plan)
and the **small freezer** next to the big fridge, the chest freezer B3 has stopped working and the little one was taken from the RC kitchen container.
All that needs to be moved into the **KITCHEN AREA (red floor tiles)**.
There is a **counter fridge** with drawers next to the back sink.
It needs repairs to its drawers and to be moved to the other side of the sink.
The **area between the combi oven and the counter fridge** I need to find a table /cupboard that will fit into the space between that fridge and combi oven.
The previous cupboard will not fit anymore due to the combi oven .
I would like to find out if one can put the filter for the combi oven on the shelf of the combi oven table, as that will free up more space for a longer cupboard.
Everything else, please move out, take off the walls and the ceiling.
If some furnishings, shelves, etc are not being used in the new main kitchen, please let me know. Some of it could be used in the Retreat Centre Kitchen.
**Empty both larders,** including big metal cabinet
**Empty sangha room** **except the white cupboards:**
**Empty flower shed**: but leave the high up shelves
The kitchen does not need any of the blue containers nor the walk in fridge behind the kitchen.
There are also the old cooker from the old kitchen and the industrial spin dryer from the monks' scullery.
Can they go on eBay, free cycle or taken to the recycling. They are now in the back of the kitchen under the extracting duct.
**Most of the old RC kitchen and dining room furniture will be used again, which is stored in the RC kitchen container.**
It would be good to put the RC kitchen in place and have it as back up for the main kitchen and store surplus main monastery kitchen cupboards etc in the freed space if there will be a storage issue.
It is possible to use the kitchen with RC kitchen equipment as it was used in the past when the old kitchen was refurbished.

## Time off
Maria: February (ideally)
Jenna: January
## Jenna Notes
Transition: Retreat Centre Household
**1) Temporary Furniture Store / RC Men’s Dorm:**
\* Non-RC Furniture and Books to be removed by end of December at latest.
\* RC Furniture left in room – we will sort this.
\* Then Room deep – cleaned by work monk/nun teams (hasn’t been cleaned for 4 years!)
\* IMPORTANT: Where can furniture and books go? Will Old workshop be empty?
**2) Temporary Sala / RC Women’s Dorm:**
\* If Possible, vacate by end on December?
\* Doors in side wall to be reconverted to windows by contractors
Hopefully during Winter Retreat Jan or Feb?. (To check with Eleonora about this).
\* We will then set up women’s dorm during winter retreat (March)
**3) Other Rooms in RC Currently used by Guests and Bodhi House:**
\* Winter Retreat: It’s Ok for these to be occupied during winter retreat as usual.
\* But we will need some room for RC helpers during this time too. We suggest:
RC uses about 5 rooms to include 4,5,6 and two of the male guest rooms (17,18)
\* This would leave 6 rooms for male winter retreat helpers and 6 for female.
Guest monk: 16,19, 20, 21, 22, 23; Guest nun: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 ,15 (see below)
\* Note: 3 Rooms off Sala – currently used for storage (13,14,15) to be reconverted to rooms
For winter retreat female guest use.
\* April: We will continue to need some rooms for helpers in April.
As suggested winter retreat helpers could stay on until the end of April.
Suggest that from start of April, new guests only booked into Karunasom/ male guest area
But people staying on after winter retreat can stay on in RC up to end of April if needed.
\* We would ask that s rooms are vacated, they can also have a deep clean.
\* Also suggest maybe no new Bodhi House bookings in RC from April.
\* May: We need to have RC completely vacated by start of May to prepare rooms.
\* Items in the RC Rooms to be labelled. NB almost all furniture is RC furniture.
A few items go to monastery – eg table in room 7.
**4) Items to be Returned to RC:**
\* In Heartwood House there are currently about 6 beds belonging to the RC.
These were borrowed by a previous Lodgings monk when the monks moved into the
House as there were no beds there. But on the understanding that they were just on loan
And would be given back when retreats resumed.
\* So we will be needing them back by the beginning of April at the latest. And the Lodgings
Monk will need to find some new beds and also mattresses which also came from the RC.
The bedding belongs to Heartwood. I will contact the Lodgings monk and copy you in –
I forgot to mention this when we spoke.
**Return Bed form Heartwood House:** A previous lodgings monk had asked to borrow about 6 RC beds and mattresses when the monks moved into Heartwood House (around 2021/22?) on the understanding that they would be returned when we needed them to start up retreats again. So that time has come- or will shortly come! And we will need those beds and mattresses back- I would say around the start of April. So the current Lodgings monk and monks community will need to get some new beds and mattresses from somewhere by early April.
## To Do
- label with tape what is RC, what is SALA

- Ensure the camera, Nucleus Nano II motor, and Syrp Genie system are connected to reliable power sources.
- **Lens Check**:
- Take off lens lid.
- Clean the lens with a microfiber cloth.
- Check the lens’s zoom and focus are still correctly positioned (markings on lens).
- **Verify Focus Calibration**:
- On the Tilta controller weel, confirm that the focus motor calibration matches the pre-set position for the speaker.
**2. Camera Visual Alignment**
1. Turn on the BMPCC 6K Pro and connect Motor to External Power Bank and SD Hard drive to camera via USB cabels.
1. Verify the frame alignment with the podium or seat where the speaker will be.
- **Focus Motor Check**:
- If the focus motor needs recalibration, perform it now. Use the Tilta Nano II controller to re-align.
- **Lock the Setup**:
- Ensure the pan/tilt system is level, and all screws are tightened
- **Climb Down**.
**3. Adjusting Pan/Tilt from iPad (if needed)**
- Use the **Syrp Genie app** to fine-tune pan and tilt settings remotely:
- Position the speaker at the center of the frame.
- Ensure the background is properly composed.
**4. Pre-Recording Checklist**
- **Sound Check**:
- Verify audio setup (external microphone or camera’s audio input).
- Test audio levels to ensure clarity.
- **Camera Settings**:
- Confirm resolution and frame rate settings (e.g., 4k ProRes at 25fps or your preferred format).
- Enable focus peaking (if monitoring focus) and false color (to check exposure).
- Lock white balance and ISO settings based on the room’s lighting conditions.
- **Remote Control Verification**:
- Test the remote start/stop function on the BMPCC app or Syrp Genie app.
- **Rehearsal**:
- Ask someone to sit in the speaker’s position to verify framing and focus.
**5. Recording**
- Begin recording using Nano II controller weel
- Monitor the feed during recording (via an external monitor or app) to ensure no interruptions during the lifestream.
- Use the Nano II focus controller if adjustments are required mid-session.
**6. Post-Recording**
- Stop recording via Nano II controller weel.
- Back up footage immediately to an external SD hard drive or app on computer
**End-of-Day Routine (on ladders)**
1. Power down all equipment.
2. Cover the camera and lens with a dust protector.
3. Check Power bank and Nano II controller weel if need to recharge for the next session.
4. Store the Tilta Nano II controller and other peripherals securely.
**Troubleshooting Notes**
- If the focus motor frequently loses calibration, consider marking the focus ring on the lens to quickly reset it.
- If the Syrp Genie app loses connection, reconnect via Bluetooth and reset the pan/tilt alignment.
- For backup, keep a step-by-step checklist accessible near the recording location.
This workflow ensures minimal manual adjustments while maximizing control through remote apps and maintaining consistency for weekly Dhamma talks.
**Tan Jalito's comments**
- No portable equipment (easy training, low maintenance)
- Preferable fix, stationary equipment.
- Many cons to portable.
- Camera for Sunday talks, rarely used (12 a year)
- Another camera for different angles to record Anumodana?
- Temple PTZ camera works well and is easy to use (saves presets but is expensive)
**Tan Issaro's comments**
Advantages of using the PTZ Canon camera:
- remote control allows for easy operation by everyone (no need for manual adjustment)
- easy and convenient set-up (extension lead’s power button switches the camera)
- FHD video recording gives good quality result
Disadvantages of using the PTZ Canon camera:
- the cost of camera, screen and ATEM Mini Pro is 5500£
- small sensor size for this price 1” (13.2 x 8.8mm)
Advantages of using Pocket Blackmagic Design camera:
- amazing quality (bokeh and sharpness) due to bigger sensor APS-C (23.10 x 12.99mm)
- portable, can be used on other occasions (i.e. as a second camera in the Temple)
- good price (much lower than PTZ camera) for the quality it delivers
Disadvantages of using Pocket Blackmagic Design camera:
- a more complicated setup might involve having a laptop to control zoom,
and other settings in the camera, via Blackmagic software. (There is a [ipad app that make it easy](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/blackmagic-camera-control/id1239292847))
- needs to be switched on and off manually by climbing the ladder (What about [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/bmpcc/comments/oizc9l/remote_control_solution_including_power_onoff/))

## Audio Team
**Members**
- T. Issaro
- T. Jalito
- T. Karunno
**Responsibility**
- **Setting up and test** the audio equipment that is necessary to do the **PA** from the different locations:
- In front of the main shrine
- In front of the secondary shrine (niche)
- In the monk eating area
- In the cloister
- **Note**: in our current contract with Jigsaw, they have to provide the complete installation and even a **demonstration** of the product.
- Setting up the audio equipment that is necessary to **record** Dhamma talks (check with video team above)
- Setting up the **AV room** and **Audio cupboard** with all the items needed (work with video team)
1. Furnitures,
2. Shelving
3. etc.
**Budget**
- There is a budget to buy equipment and furniture
**Specs**
- Rachaya will share the specs of the rooms
**Notes**
1. Suggestions were given for the construction and separation of the (currently) shared cupboard space in the Monks Eating Area, to separate the audio equipment space from the cushion storage space. This is to ensure that the dust from the cushion storage does not have a negative impact on the life expectancy of the electronics (especially the rotary/linear pots on the mixer) in the audio equipment.
2. Another suggestion was a change of the location for the audio inputs/outputs for the Cloister, thereby connecting the audio from the Temple, Sala and the Outdoor areas. Something that was not practically feasible before. (see point 6)
3. The dual mic is digital, and it would be better to have radio UHF one less prone to interference
\[Q\] Can we remove it from the list and buy it ourselves, we would choose **Shure GLXD24R+/SM58** instead
See [Mics](https://wiki.amaravati.org/books/phase-6s-transition/page/mics "Mics") for more information
4. Warranty, how do we manage? \[Q\]
5. Suggestions for the cloister audio mixer that link the temple and the Sala (by Tan Karunno)
For the cloister audio mixer, Tan Karunno propose to buy **Yamaha MG10 10-Channel Mixer from:**
1. [https://www.musicmatter.co.uk/yamaha-mg10](https://www.musicmatter.co.uk/yamaha-mg10)
2. [https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/yamaha-mg10-mixing-desk](https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/yamaha-mg10-mixing-desk)
3. [https://www.gak.co.uk/en/yamaha-mg10-mixer/93163](https://www.gak.co.uk/en/yamaha-mg10-mixer/93163)
Also, note that Microphone cables are not on any list so far.
## Projector
**Note**
1. \[Q\] we have to provide the projector ourselves
2. \[Q\] target budget
3. 3 Options
1. Long distance projector mounted on the opposite wall
2. Ultra Short throw mounted at the top of the screen
3. Ultra Short throw as a portable unit that sits in front of the screen when needed (with small cart)
1. Need a place to store the projector and the cart.
4. Can we move the screen to the right?

## Plans
### Screen
What is the quality of the screen? Is it good enough for Ultra Short Throw?
This is the brand of the screen we have, not sure exactly which size, probably 135'' or 150'' version: [https://www.platinumhomecinema.co.uk/product-category/electric-screens-matte-white/](https://www.platinumhomecinema.co.uk/product-category/electric-screens-matte-white/)
The room is 15m wide wall to wall
### AV Store
Drawing for the AV rack in the AV room
[](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eHoSZ2k39k_75OTE497UpnjfGj3nnrcy/view?usp=sharing)
Comments:
- The only thing that comes to mind for the audio part is that it would be useful if the **audio rack/cabinet had a front door with a clear see-through panel.** A 19-inch rack with a glass door keeps the internal environment dust free. And since this is an installation, this would seem appropriate here.
- Furman Power Conditioner for the audio rack. (Tan Karunno)
*I assume the Sound Engineer has already thought about this, but just to be sure; a **Furman Power Conditioner** makes sure that the power supply for the rack would be perfectly smooth and could eliminate any noise or hum, or from power "spikes" from the on/off switching of other things in the building (i.e. the refrigerators in the kitchen, lights, etc.). As I do not know the current power cabling instalment (number of phases, outlets, the nearest transformers (if applicable), or if there is already a power conditioner for the entire building), it would be something to ask the Sound Engineer, as he would be able to verify, or to take this into consideration.*
*I will link this just as an example, so that people not into audio power conditioning will know what I am referring to.*
*[https://www.thomann.co.uk/furman\_pl8\_ce.htm](https://www.thomann.co.uk/furman_pl8_ce.htm)*
- **Mic solution**: still in discussion, possible candidate:
- [https://www.sennheiser.com/en-gb/catalog/products/wireless-systems/ew-d-835-set/ew-d-835-s-set-s1-7-508753](https://www.sennheiser.com/en-gb/catalog/products/wireless-systems/ew-d-835-set/ew-d-835-s-set-s1-7-508753)
- Or the same as in the temple
- Choice of the mic is actually quite tricky as it needs to be "old-people" proof (two state only front button on/off) according to his experience.

## Sketches and advices
the shelf storage in the attic - including the workshop - needs a rubber support to spread the load on the floor.

Note: This ultra-short-throw (UST) projector has the following **advantages:**
1.) It's very bright (roughly twice as bright as comparable projectors), which is essential if projecting in a room which can't be blacked-out (where ambient light can't be eliminated) - which is our use case
2.) It supports 4K source playback, which is a welcome feature
3.) It can positioned very close to the screen
4.) It's from a reputable brand and is a recent model (ensuring it will stay relevant longer)
It's **disadvantages:**
1.) It's expensive
2.) It's bulky and heavy
3.) Our ability to make full use of it's features is uncertain
**or
Option B -** TBC
**2.) Screen: Option A -** 160″ Matt Grey 16:9 Electric Screen **\*availability and suitability for a UST projector questionable\***
Price: £219.95
Supplier: [platinumhomecinema.co.uk](https://www.platinumhomecinema.co.uk/product/160-matt-grey-169-electric-screen/)
Note: This screen is designed for areas where ambient light can't be eliminated and improves the image quality compared to when using a regular white screen. With our current white screen we have always have had an issue with the projected image appearing "washed out" - this grey screen will help with that issue.
Examples of the benefit of using grey over white projection surface in a room which can't be blacked-out:

**or
Option B -** Celexon HomeCinema Tension 135" 16:9 **(it might need to be fully extended for tab tensioning to work - 30cm top border including - is this doable?)**
Price: £716.93
Supplier: [www.avpartsmaster.co.uk](https://www.avpartsmaster.co.uk/celexon-screen-homecinema-tension-300-x-169-cm-135-16-9-p159845/s159808?utm_source=TAG&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=2266&tagrid=66483603)
Note: White, tensioned screen, recommended for UST projectors over regular screens (might be **required** instead of just recommended, more information [here](https://elitescreens.com/2017/11/the-difference-between-standard-short-throw-and-ust-projectors/)).

# Mics
## Updated Audio Equipment List
The audio team would like to replace the three items below:
with:
APPLICATION | DESCRIPTION/TYPE | LOCATION | MANUFACTURER & REF
(NOTE 1)
| Quantity | NOTES / ACCESSORIES |
Zone 1 | Wireless SM58 Microphone
System | Sala (AV Cabinet\*) | [Shure GLXD24+/SM58](https://www.thomann.co.uk/shure_glxd24_sm58.htm)
| 2 | 2x Dual band 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz Digital Wireless System with microphone |
Zone 1 | Rechargeable Li-Ion batteries | Sala (AV Cabinet) | [Shure SB904](https://www.thomann.co.uk/shure_sb904.htm) | 2 | For Shure GLXD24+/SM58 System |
Zone 1 | Wired SM58 microphones with switch | Sala (AV Cabinet) | [Shure SM58S](https://www.thomann.co.uk/shure_sm58s.htm) | 2
| We have old mics we can use as well in addition to this in zone 2. |
**\*Note**: The AV Cabinet seems more suitable for a locating the mic wireless system (due to a Wi-Fi access point in the AV Room creating interferences)
#### Comment from Neil, Acoustic Engineer
Both analogue and digital mics can suffer interference. But slightly different characteristics. I think the digital systems have perhaps more risk on cutting out altogether within a full venue (lots of mobile phones etc). But I get the impression that the quality of the product is likely more important. For example I believe the Shure QLX-D wireless systems are a bit of current industry standard for quality hardware.
Inevitably, analogue mics are going to be simpler to operate and probably less likely to cut out altogether - although can also be prone to stray analogue interference.
It could be that a decent old school Shure analogue system is suitable, and provides more comfort and less risk, such as
BLX288/B58 - Wireless Dual Vocal System with two Beta 58A - Shure United Kingdom
##### Reply from Tan Karunno
While it is true that both analogue and digital microphones suffer from interferences, they have different intermittence characteristics. The noise-floor threshold in a digital system cuts out if there is no data coming through, getting indistinguishable from the background noise-floor, while it creeps in on an analogue transmitter/receiver system. In the Shure GLXD24+ Wireless System, Shure has tried to specifically address this issue of using the 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz frequency bands, by incorporating a dual band system in the GLXD24+, that runs on both - switching to the other band if needed.
Also, the Shure QLX-D Wireless System requires a **licence** in order to use it, the Shure GLXD24+/SM58 System does not require one.

### Comments from Sam. Jotipanno
I was measuring different cleaning products this morning and reached the conclusion that 90% of them are up to 28cm tall. Considering this and some "out of propotion" bottles, I removed 1 shelve in Unit 1 and added 2 shelves in Unit 2, the idea is that Unit 1 can fit all sorts of sizes while Unit 2 could be for the smaller stuff. Are you alright with it? Please take a look at the following link:
I was wondering if we have some empty space to hang mops and brooms in the wall after we put the boiler room shelves in there.
I wouldn't need a lot of empty space in the wall, but I am counting 6 mops and 8 brooms.
I am also thinking about 6 Buckets, they could fit in the shelves easily, but then you loose some storing space...

With the existing PA mic setup, adding a dual-mic configuration for recording can still improve the audio quality while keeping the setup streamlined. Here’s how to adjust the setup to integrate an additional mic effectively:
### Additional Equipment
1. **Secondary Microphone**:
- Add a high-quality **shotgun microphone** to capture focused audio for the recording. A shotgun mic has a tight pickup pattern, which helps capture clear, isolated speech.
- Suggested models include **Sennheiser MKE 600** or **RØDE NTG4+**.
2. **Audio Recorder or Interface**:
- Use a recorder with dual inputs, like the **Zoom H5** or **Tascam DR-40X**, allowing independent recording of the PA mic and shotgun mic. This lets you blend both sources in post-production.
### Setup Process
1. **Boom Positioning**:
- Keep the PA mic in its current position, slightly below the speaker’s mouth.
- Attach the shotgun mic to the same boom or an additional mount just above or slightly beside the PA mic. Angle it toward the speaker’s mouth, keeping it close but out of the frame if recording video.
2. **Audio Recorder Setup**:
- Connect each mic (PA and shotgun) to separate inputs on your audio recorder. Set the levels so that the shotgun mic is slightly louder than the PA mic for recording clarity, while the PA mic provides a backup and the ambient room sound.
3. **Testing**:
- Run a few test recordings to adjust levels. Aim for the shotgun mic to capture most of the speaker’s voice, with the PA mic supplementing it.
4. **Post-Processing**:
- In post-production, adjust the balance between the PA and shotgun mic recordings. You might rely more on the shotgun mic for clarity, blending in the PA mic as needed for a natural, consistent sound.
This setup allows you to enhance the recording quality while keeping the PA setup functional. Let me know if you need more details on fine-tuning or equipment recommendations!

# Kitchen Wahing Up
### Washing Up Set up
All sinks are big size.
Red sink contains a heating element for sanitisation.

## Question From Tan Cittadhammo
I do find this super hot sinks quite odd to be honest. You need to stack your dishes or pots into a tray before plunging them to be safe. So you need to have space to stack your items before plunging (this is not taken into account in my design)
Also, if you plunge a big pot, the heat will conduct through the metal. If you are handling the pot with your hands, you might burn your hands if you hold on the pot. Metal is very heat conductive!
So I think we need to do a good review of how all this is gonna work out: Who will be washing up (guest or public), what training, what equipment (special gloves with insulation?) ?

Here a brief recap of the decisions taken today – please check whether I have understood correctly.
**6s – Kitchen sinks variations (08/11/2024)**
All sinks: the existing taps interfere with lids and pots.
Install spray units in the 2 pre-wash stations (as in Nuns' scullery), and taller single lever taps (as in Monks' scullery) in all other bowls. Levers should not jut over the bowls.
Pots sink (S): the lid to the sterilising (dipping) bowl is too heavy; split it in 2 overlapping sections (preferred), or install 2 handles on it to make it more manageable. The right bowl will be used for pre-wash and washing up.
Plates/cups/cutlery sinks (N) – improve workflow and space:
*Western sink* – will be used for pre-wash and washing up (both basins connected to the grease trap): lose the thermostated sterilising system and enlarge the 2 bowls (reducing space between them).
*Eastern sink* – will be used for rinse and sterilisation: enlarge bowls if possible. The rinse basin (left) should be already connected to grease trap (good if the sink has to be used on its own).
To be specified: size of the North sinks basins (ref.present kitchen?).Questions
# Conferance Mic
For a large meeting room setup with around 12 participants, a high-quality conferencing mic system can make a big difference in clarity and coverage during Zoom meetings. Here are a few effective options for your needs:
1. **Boundary Microphones with Beamforming**:
- **Option**: **Shure MXA910 Ceiling Array** or **Shure MXA310 Table Array**.
- **Features**: These mics use beamforming to focus on active speakers and reduce room noise, and they integrate well with AV setups for seamless audio pickup. They can be ceiling-mounted or placed on the table and are designed for larger spaces.
2. **Wireless Microphone System**:
- **Option**: **Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2**.
- **Features**: Wireless options allow flexibility in placement and keep the table uncluttered. These systems are also ceiling-mounted and cover a wide area, ensuring everyone is clearly heard.
3. **Dedicated Conference Microphones**:
- **Option**: **Poly Sync 60** or **Jabra Speak 810**.
- **Features**: These are speakerphone-style devices, ideal for large rooms. They connect to your computer via USB and Bluetooth, which makes them easy to set up for Zoom. The Poly Sync 60 has additional features like two mics for wide coverage and echo cancellation, while the Jabra Speak 810 has similar benefits but with a focus on larger rooms.
4. **Integrated Conference Systems**:
- **Option**: **Logitech Rally Bar**.
- **Features**: This all-in-one system includes high-quality speakers, a camera, and microphones optimized for 10-15 people. It works well with Zoom and can be set up to capture video and audio with minimal setup complexity.
These systems all offer good integration with Zoom and can be connected to both the TV and computer for seamless meetings. Let me know if you'd like further guidance on any of these!
For a table-based microphone system that supports a large group, here are a few ideal options for achieving clear audio in a big meeting room setup:
#### 1. **Shure MXA310 Table Array Microphone**
- **Features**: This microphone uses beamforming to capture voices clearly from multiple directions, making it well-suited for larger tables. The MXA310 can be customized to focus on specific "pick-up zones," which helps reduce background noise and focus on the active speaker.
- **Connectivity**: It connects via Dante (a digital audio network protocol) to compatible devices, and you can route the audio to your computer with an interface, or by using a USB-Dante interface.
- **Extra Benefit**: Shure’s IntelliMix DSP technology filters out room noise, enhancing clarity.
- **Ideal For**: Large tables where you need multiple directional coverage from a single device.
#### 2. **Poly Sync 60 Smart Speakerphone**
- **Features**: The Poly Sync 60 is designed for larger rooms and picks up voices from around the table. It includes two built-in microphones with a wide coverage area, echo cancellation, and a powerful built-in speaker for audio playback.
- **Connectivity**: Connects to your computer via USB or Bluetooth, making it compatible with a wide range of devices, including TVs if supported by Bluetooth. It also has a 3.5mm audio-out port.
- **Extra Benefit**: This speakerphone includes automatic tracking of active speakers, and it can daisy-chain with other Poly Sync units for broader coverage if needed.
- **Ideal For**: Rooms that may need flexible or mobile mic placement without a complex setup.
#### 3. **Jabra Speak 810**
- **Features**: A simple plug-and-play solution, the Jabra Speak 810 is designed for larger meetings, with 360-degree voice pickup using multiple omnidirectional mics.
- **Connectivity**: Connects via USB, Bluetooth, or a 3.5mm jack, offering wide compatibility. Plugging it into your meeting room computer via USB makes setup easy for Zoom meetings.
- **Extra Benefit**: The Jabra has a unique digital signal processing (DSP) feature that suppresses ambient noise, making voices clearer.
- **Ideal For**: Smaller spaces or rooms where quick setup and easy portability are preferred.
#### 4. **BeyerDynamic Classis RM 31 Q**
- **Features**: This is a wired, boundary microphone with a low-profile, omnidirectional pickup that’s excellent for large tables. It sits flat on the table, reducing visual clutter and picking up voices from a wide radius.
- **Connectivity**: Requires an XLR connection, so it’s best suited if your room has an audio interface or mixer to connect it to your computer.
- **Extra Benefit**: Has good room noise rejection, making it effective in larger, sometimes echo-prone rooms.
- **Ideal For**: Long tables where a flat, unobtrusive mic can be centrally placed.
Each of these options offers clear audio coverage for large tables, integrates well with Zoom, and can be connected to your setup with minimal hassle. If you need to cover an especially large table, using two units (e.g., two Poly Sync 60s daisy-chained) might provide even coverage across the room.

## After Hand-Over
Task | People | Time needed | comments |
Network: installing 5 WiFi access points | 2 | 1 to 4 work periods, see comments | It really depends on how the holes in the ceiling were drilled and whether they’ll allow us to easily attach the mounting kits.
If the holes are larger than the screw holes on the mounting brackets, it could be more challenging and may require some kind of reinforcement within the ceiling, like what happened at NAB. However, if the holes are the correct size for our mounting kits, the installation should be straightforward and can be completed in a morning or two.
By that time, the Ethernet cables will be live and ready to power the preconfigured access points. Once connected, they’ll immediately broadcast our usual networks; as such, this task can be handled by anyone with general workshop skills; it doesn't necessarily have to be the network monks (in case we're not around, e.g. Kathinas, etc.)

## Snagging Process
## Snagging Team
This is the team that will keep track of the defects and items that need to be repaired during the one-year defect liability period. The contractor will repair these items, not ABM.
Ideally, the Snagging Team should include the Site Manager, the Maintenance Manager, one monk, one nun. And the Sala Snagging List should be reported and discussed at the ABC meeting.
The team will be active after the handover.
**Members**:
- Site Manager
- Maintenance Manager
- Work Monk
- Work Nun
- Transition Officer (Tan Cittadhammo)
**Monk Representatives**: Tan Karunno, Aj. Jivako, Tan Cittadhammo

# Meeting 24 Jan 2025
Following the snagging meeting of the other day, here are the points we discussed today at my meeting with Ajahn Nyanadassano:
A) The **12am Kitchen check** list would need to include instruction on:
1. 1. **Scrape** the food out of the servery dishes with the scraper
2. Pour **water into the** **drain** (can be done with the brush and squeegee if the floor is cleaned)
3. **Grease trap** cleaning
1. front liquid to be emptied and cleaned
2. basket to be emptied and cleaned
3. Water to be poured at the end of the washing up and later on during the day (5pm)
4. **Floor Cleaning**
1. what kind of cleaning at what frequency TBD
5.
Make sure the **multipurpose room** is included in the daily washing up list.
Some rows could be grouped by activity (like Servery, etc.) and a "person in charge" cell could have its own column.
The items of the list should be explained in the **Kitchen Manual** and the coordinators trained on it.
B) **Locking up** and unlocking the **larders**
- Keeps keys in the kitchen office accessible for **KA** and tea chore people(?) and asking them to manage the locking/unlocking
- OR ask the **nuns** to lock/unlock the larder morning 6:30am and evening at 7pm
We did not come to a conclusion on this point.
C) **Training the lay support group**
- For points of A), We can add this to our training on **Friday** and invite as many people as we can (those who stay 3 months would have priority)
- I can do the training on the **floor washing** (Cittadhammo)
D) **Organising** information physically and digitally (wiki) for the Kitchen
- Kitchen Manual, list, manual, label, posters, etc.
- Maybe An. Chloë could help with that
